Ring electric motors
Even though ring electric motors are now often replaced by variable frequency drives, there are still many customers who do prefer these electric motors, mainly due to their robustness. Another reason for use is in applications where a ring armature motor cannot be replaced by a short armature motor with an inverter.
The P, VP, R and VR series electric motors replace the previous H, VH, COH, CVH, G, HRP, 2RP and other series.
Engines P, VP
Three-phase asynchronous metallurgical crane ring motors with permanently connected brushes are designed to drive cranes or other transport equipment with an intermittent nature. The motors can only be used for the environment indicated on the performance plate and confirmed in the purchase contract. The manufacturer allows the use of motors in an environment under a shelter according to ČSN 33 0300 Article 4.1.2. and recommends ordering motors for such use in a version for difficult climatic conditions, designation T23 according to ČSN 34 5609.
Three-phase asynchronous metallurgical crane ring motors with permanently connected brushes are produced:
At axial height H = 112 – 400 mm
The basic structural parts of the motor at the axial height H = 112-250 mm are made of cast iron, the fan is made of aluminum alloy. For the axial height H = 280-400 mm, the basic structural parts of the engine are welded steel, including the fan.
Basic design:
The three-phase asynchronous metallurgical crane ring motor is considered the basic design:
- shape IM 1001 – foot with one cylindrical end of the shaft
- in protection IP 44 – motor closed
- for axial heights of 112 to 200 mm with IC 411 surface cooling
- for axial heights of 225 to 400 mm with IC 511 surface cooling
- motors of sizes 112 and 132 mm have a terminal cover equipped with two packing glands, motors of sizes 160 to 400 mm have a terminal cover equipped with a two-necked cable end
- for intermittent operation S3 and load 40%
- for a nominal voltage of 380 V
- for a nominal frequency of 50 Hz
- for ambient temperature from -30 C to +50 C
- for complex environments: wet with relative air humidity up to 95%/25 C, cold with temperatures from -30 C, hot with temperatures up to +50 C
- the highest permitted speed is 200% of the rated speed
- with an insulation system of temperature insulation class F
- for altitudes up to 1,000 m
- with gray exterior paint
Engines R, VR
Three-phase asynchronous ring motors with permanently attached brushes of the R, VR series with an axial height of H-200 to 280 mm.
Motors can be supplied for rated voltages from 220 V to 690 V and frequencies of 50 Hz or 60 Hz. The frame of the R, VR series motors is made of cast iron, the fan is made of aluminum alloy. The insulation system corresponds to insulation temperature class F.
