Softstarters
Motor soft-start solutions to reduce mechanical stress, current peaks and extend motor life across all applications.
Unlike inverters, softstarters do not use a frequency-voltage conversion and therefore do not facilitate motor speed control. Their simpler design also makes them much cheaper than frequency inverters.
We offer several model ranges — from the simplest designs for no-load starting to heavy-duty starts, with the possibility of controlled stopping, communication with control systems, and integrated motor current protection.
Reduced Inrush Current
Direct-on-line starting draws 5–8× full-load current. A softstarter limits this to 2–4× FLC — reducing voltage dips, transformer stress and utility demand charges.
Extended Equipment Life
Eliminating mechanical shock at start extends belt, coupling, bearing and impeller life. Soft stopping reduces water hammer in pump systems and stress on process pipework.
PROFINET, PROFIBUS & More
Advanced SIRIUS 3RW55 models communicate via PROFINET, PROFIBUS, EtherNet/IP and Modbus. Direct cloud connectivity via OPC UA. Motor data via standard web browser.
Integrated Motor Protection
Electronic overload, phase failure, under-voltage, thermistor input and phase imbalance protection — often replacing separate relay devices in the motor circuit.
